In March 2025, a new international project called “Imagine” was launched. Its more detailed title is “Imagine-engaging activities on Jewish women’s stories to enhance historical memory.”
Centropa is implementing the project in collaboration with partner institutions from seven countries: Lithuania, Poland, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Germany, and Poland. In Lithuania, the project is implemented by the Secretariat of the International Commission.
The IMAGINE (Active Remembrance Through Jewish Women’s Stories project) will analyse the stories of Jewish women who lived in seven different countries, which are linked to the events of the Second World War and the Holocaust. The project will examine women’s different lives and fates.
The international project will run for two years. In 2025, it will be implemented in Lithuania. Students from the Faculty of Communication of Vilnius University will be involved in educational and creative activities. In 2026, it will be implemented by organising activities with students from schools with Tolerance Education Centres.
The second meeting of the project coordinators took place remotely in April, and a live meeting is planned for mid-May in Berlin. At this meeting, the concrete activities to be implemented in 2025 in all seven countries implementing the IMAGINE project will be discussed. The project is funded by the European Commission.
