An international seminar in Krakow with teachers from six European countries

From November 21 to 23, an international seminar was held in Krakow, Poland, for teachers from seven countries participating in the IMAGINE international project (Remembering the Stories of Jewish Women).

The three-day seminar included various activities, such as analyzing the biographies of Polish Jewish women, doing group work, screening and discussing a film about Tosia Silberring, and going on thematic excursions based on the stories of people who lived during that time. The seminar was held in English. Lithuania was represented by three teachers from the Meilė Lukšienė Education Center, the Sūduva Gymnasium, the Marijampolė Vocational Training Center, and the Kalvarija Gymnasium, as well as the Education Program Coordinator from the Secretariat of the International Commission. Lithuanian teachers participated in the seminar to prepare for the implementation of the IMAGINE project in Lithuania in 2026. This year, project activities are being carried out with Vilnius University students, and next year, schoolchildren will be invited to participate. Thus, the teachers who participated in the Krakow seminar became more familiar with the project’s theme, goals, and content.

The international seminar was organized by Centropa together with the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow. The international event was held as part of the IMAGINE project’s implementation.
