From December 2 to 3, an international seminar was held in Athens, Greece, for representatives of various European institutions participating in the project, “The Holocaust as a Starting Point.”
This project has been running for several years, with 12 to 14 European countries participating. Organized by the French organization Memorial de la Shoah, Lithuania has participated in the project since 2022.
The international seminar took place at the French Institute in Athens. During the event, the project activities for the next two years were discussed. Ingrida Vilkienė, the education program coordinator at the International Commission Secretariat who participated in the event, hopes that Lithuanian teachers will willingly and actively participate in the 2027 project activities. The project, “The Holocaust as a Starting Point,” is dedicated to discussing historical topics between neighboring countries. During these discussions, it is possible to get acquainted with and establish contacts with teachers from other countries.
