An exhibition “Through the Atlantic: The century of friendship between Lithuania and the USA” was inaugurated at the Kalvarija Gymnasium

On 13 November an exhibition “Through the Atlantic: The century of friendship between Lithuania and the USA” was inaugurated at the Kalvarija Gymnasium, which lists the moments of friendship between Lithuania and the USA.

The opening ceremony was honored by the USA Ambassador to Lithuania Anne Hall, Head of V. Adamkus Foundation Library Arūnas Antanaitis, Mayor of Kalvarija Municipality V. Plikaitis, and Vice-Mayor K. Bagdanavičius. The exhibition reveals the dynamics of relations between the United States of America and Lithuania that had matured and had been upheld over a century. The creators of the exhibition, Lithuanian and US historians, collected unique historiography material that surprises with new, perhaps less heard stories about the most important moments of the Lithuanian-American dialogue and historical personalities shaping and determining the direction of this dialogue. The exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the restoration of the statehood of Lithuania was co-created by the US Embassy in Lithuania and President Valdas Adamkus Library-Museum.
