Appreciation award for the Commission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel

On 16 May 2022, at a ceremony held on the occasion of Israel’s Independence Day, 5 Lithuanian individuals/institutions were honored with a special honorary award for their outstanding contribution to a good dialogue between Lithuania and Israel. One of the honorees was the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes by the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania.

In receiving the award, the Commission’s Executive Director, Ronaldas Račinskas, highlighted that he was accepting this honorable award on behalf of all the partners who have contributed significantly to the Commission’s important initiatives. In particular, he acknowledged Tolerance Education Centers and the teachers who work wholeheartedly in these centers; without their involvement, support and assistance, many of the Commission’s public and educational projects would not be possible.
