National project Getting to know Jewish cultural heritage for Tolerance education centers and general education institutions

At the beginning of 2020 a national project was launched in Lithuania – the artistic expression contest Getting to know Jewish cultural heritage. The project is aimed at the school communities of Lithuania to encourage pupils to have interest in Lithuanian Jewish history, culture, cultural heritage and to apply artistic expression means for expressing acquired knowledge and understanding.

The pupils sent their works to the project organizers until the end of February. More than 100 works from 42 Lithuanian schools were submitted for the contest. The jury selected 60 works to be exhibited in the Multicultural center of Kėdainiai Regional Museum.

In the spring of 2020, the final project event will take place in Kedainiai at the Multicultural center. Authors of the best works will be ranked first, second and third according to the age groups: grades 5 to 8 and grades 9 to 12.
