Getting to know Jewish cuisine as Hanukkah approaches

Students from the TUC at Palanga Vlado Jurgučio Pro-Gymnasium participated in the educational program “From Bagels to Challah.”

For the third consecutive year, the Palanga Jewish community has offered educational meetings with Dovilė Rūkaitė, creator of the “Bagel Shop” concept. She organizes the educational program “From Bagels to Challah.” During these sessions, the students knead the dough, braid the challah, and decorate it themselves. While the challah bakes, the students learn about Jewish holidays and traditions. This year, the students learned about the meaning and traditions of the upcoming Hanukkah holiday. They also tasted their own baked challah and delicious jam doughnuts. This is an annual event organized by the Tolerance Education Center of the Vladas Jurgutis Pro-Gymnasium School in Palanga in cooperation with the Palanga Jewish community.
