Pupils connected with the Jewish history of Lithuania in the reciters’ contest

On 18 October a contest of reciters for pupils was held at Kaunas IXth Fort museum. The title was “Silent Walls, touched by words”.

During the contest, pupils recited texts from the works of Icchok Mer, Abraham Sutzkever, Balys Sruoga, Grigory Kanovich, Sigitas Parulskis, Primo Levi and etc. There were 60 pupils, who came with their teachers from all over Lithuania.

The pupils competed in the categories for grades 5-8 and grades 9-12. For the first time, 6 reciters (1-3 places in both categories) were selected as winners of the contest on the topic of Lithuanian Jewish history.

The event was organized by Kaunas IXth Fort museum in cooperation with the International Commission.
